Angioplasty
I have just been told by my cardiologist that I need to have an
angioplasty
with stent because there is a narrowing of my LAD. I am freaking out - I’m 42 this year and have an 8 year old daughter and a wife who I love very much. I have heard CVD in the LAD is very serious - a widow maker.

Angiogram/Angioplasty
Hi I am having an Angiogram/
Angioplasty
on the 22nd of September and have my pre-op on the 18th, what is the normal recovery from this procedure if nothing is actually carried out after looking through the arteries and recovery if a stent or anything is done?

Back after 5 years? Update!!
They performed an
angioplasty
(in through the groin, insert a balloon, inflate to stretch the narrow bit, deflate and pull it out. All good! Amazing what they can do these days. The prognosis is unclear, the graft has a lifetime (unknown), walking is good.

I’m confused
I went for
angioplasty
and they concluded I did not require a stent but put me on statins.

Failed angioplasty/ stent placement
Has anyone ever had a failed
angioplasty
when attempting to put in stents in an occluded vein? If so- has there been a second attempt? Was it successful? Thanks

ICD and Driving
With a new tablet regime (dapagliflozin and entresto) and an
angioplasty
, things have significantly improved (awaiting results of echocardiogram to assess recovery - but my running times are back to where they were 10 years ago). However, the electro-cardiologist still recommends an ICD.

an anniversary
I ended up with 5 relaxing days in hospital, during the pandemic, plugged into many wires, with lovely caring nurses, and an angiogram/
angioplasty
which revealed two 80% blocked coronary arteries. I had no idea!

Perspiring profusely
I have had 5 angiograms including the
angioplasty
and my consultant doesn’t want to do anymore for a while as my arteries are not very good. To cut a long story short the past 3/4 months I have been suffering with profuse sweating with this uncomfortable pain in my chest.

Anyone had a coronary sinus reducer?
I haven't been on here in a long while. My medical history is pretty complex, I'm seen locally at the Bristol Heart Institute but also under the care of the Cardio-oncology team at the Royal Brompton which a forum member told me about years ago thankfully. Basically my bone marrow transplant and other

Angioplasty not angiogram?
Today I’ve had a letter saying I’m in on the 3rd March for an
angioplasty
, but the thing is we haven’t discussed this and it’s not really what I want.

At Rock bottom
Last year I’d had a heart scare and ended up under going
angioplasty
but didn’t need stenting thankfully. I’m feeling utterly useless, worthless and yesterday woke up feeling like I didn’t want to be alive anymore.

Changed betablocker but same weird symptoms
Mid December last year I had a planned
angioplasty
and a stent. Unfortunately during the op something went wrong and I had a heart attack, but apart from that all went well!! I was put on bisoprolol because my heart rate is a bit high, also asprin and clopidogrel.

Collaterals
During my
angioplasty
I was diagnosed with 2 of the 3 main arteries 85 to 95 % blocked. The third on the right hand side was completely blocked but had already formed collaterals. I therefore received no treatment for the right hand artery.

Angioplasty tomorrow...in urgent need of advice asap pls
Hi all
angioplasty
booked for tomorrow but not sure if I should go ahead with it or just cancel. Reason for procedure: Doc wants to investigate extent of artery blockage in order to prescribe flecanide medication for afib. If blockage is severe he will fit a stent during the procedure.

Referral for Angiogram
After a recent telephone conversation with a cardiologist I am being referred for an angiogram (with
angioplasty
if required). Over the last two years have begun to find hills a little harder.

After angioplasty
Hi everyone. I had a couple of stents instated in my hear about 20 years ago due to blockage in my heart. Rather concern now as I am 65yo Does anyone know what type of non instrucive scan or test I can ask for to check if there is more blockage? Charles
