Hi everyone.

I had a couple of stents instated in my hear about 20 years ago due to blockage in my heart.

Rather concern now as I am 65yo

Does anyone know what type of non instrucive scan or test I can ask for to check if there is more blockage?

Charles

hello if you don’t have any symptoms that’s a blessing and I wonder if a doctor would refer you if no symptoms?

I can imagine wanting to know is playing on your mind.

Or you could carry on as you are and enjoy life for as long as possible.

I wonder if a CT scan might be the answer as non invasive but would use meds / dyes?

Good luck.

Hi charleslim. Was there a particular reason this is worrying you now? Have you got new symptoms, read or been told something recently?

As fishface says, any new, possible heart symptoms will be worth discussing with your GP,

Maybe a stress test with echo cardiographer. Check with your gp and you may have to go private if you have no symptoms. Best wishes.

Hi Charleslim, unless you have symptoms as others said, try to enjoy life and do not worry about this. If you do have angina or other symptoms and given your history, an angiogram may be the best option. However, depending on your symptoms your GP and cardiologist may decide to do something less evasive, such as a cardiac stress test, but no doubt they can advice you better. Hope this helps.

Only way to be sure that I’m aware of is an angiogram.

I have had the same question as my biomarkers had been perfect for last 10 years and then discovered that all the 3 major arteries were blocked and needed stenting. So now I am looking for a non-invasive way to measure the progress of the disease. Since I am in the US, I have looked at this cleerlyhealth.com/heart-dis... but I am not sure how effective is it in measuring plaque for someone with stents.
