Change of medicatuon
My consultant is now going to add
Anagrelide
to my existing medication, with a view to reducing or phasing out the Hydrocarbamide if all goes well. Does anyone have any experience of this, or how well it's likely to work? I'd appreciate any comments. Thank You!

I know we all react very differently to meds can I ask those who take
Anagrelide
for et how they have found it. I can't take interferon currently on hu.

Update on possible transformation to M f
I asked for my blood results, she said she wasn’t able to email me them but read some out - Platelets earlier this year were 474 but after
Anagrelide
was reduced to help with anaemia have now risen to 578 (on Tuesday) I have got a streaming cold at the moment so that might allow for some increase.

Headaches on HU
I do drink 64 ozs of fluids daily, I am afraid of trying
Anagrelide
as I have Paroxysmal AFib (take Eliquis). My question is did anyone experience this and then headaches eventually stop? Eileen in Pennsylvania, USA

Anagrelid to Interferon and Hashimoto.
I’ve always had heart palpitations from
Anagrelide
. All doctors to date said no interferon (I have Hashimoto) and no HU ( I have inborn anaemia). When I tried it once, I had nasty neurological side effects. Now I found a new MPN specialist. Only 5 in all Austria. I drive 180 Km to get there.

Spoke to the doctor this morning, biopsy showed some fibrosis/scarring, apparently
Anagrelide
, which I’ve been on for some years, can make this worse! So dosage is being reduced from 4 to 3 per day. Platelets currently at 495 but he said it should be ok if they go up to 600.

Having to decide between Peg or
Anagrelide
for my next consultation in October at Haemotology. Also my history has been discussed with Dr Claire Harrison at Guys . The decision is mine . I reacted badly to Hydroxy & taken off it .

1st day on Ruxolitinib
The doctor took me off both Hydroxy and
Anagrelide
to start on new medication Ruxolitinib 20mg x2 daily. im a bit nervous about it, as I gained a lot of weight with the other medication and shielding, I don’t want to gain more.

increased effects of hydroxycarbamide and Anagrelide due to CKD
My wife has MF and now CKD of the one kidney she has left, the drugs for her MF are affecting the FBC more so than previously.i asked her hematologist if it was the reduced function of her kidney causing dramatic reduction in platelets and Hgb , while her white cells are four times normal count.

an additional diagnosis ..
been a while since I wrote here, thanks to those who’ve replied back then, I’ve been diagnosed with ET jak2 in June 2019, been on
anagrelide
since July 2021 and am facing a situation where the medication already doesn’t work any longer.

Anagrelide
Started on Hydroxicarbomide but due to side affects changed to
Anagrelide
another 2 years ago. The issue is that my platelets white cells and hemoglobin are now really low. So have been advised to stop
Anagrelide
to see if my counts come up.

ET CALR - Heavy Flu like head, neuropathy
Put on
anagrelide
of varied dosages for 2 years and felt awful most of the time with platelets normal to just below 1m. Switched to weekly 45mcg Pegasys in 2016 and although I felt pretty bad the day or two after injection, I felt much better. Platelets in normal range.

Hi, does anyone out there have experience of taking peginterferon with
Anagrelide
for ET? Until about 6 mths ago I was taking a mixture of Hydrea and
Anagrelide
but it was no longer working so well so I switched to interferon.

ET transforming?
I was on Hydroxy at first but been on
Anagrelide
for a few years. I’ve been anaemic for a long time, usually iron tablets bring the hg up again but it’s staying low at the moment.

A follow up to my post about switching from hydroxyurea to interferon. Questions about switching to besremi or anagrelide.
My hematologist is willing to prescribe whatever I want him to, but he wanted me to look into besremi and also
anagrelide
. I don’t think he has worked with interferon for quite some time and considered it an older medication.
