Hu. Was diagnosed with ET Calr about 4 years ago. Started on Hydroxicarbomide but due to side affects changed to Anagrelide another 2 years ago. The issue is that my platelets white cells and hemoglobin are now really low. So have been advised to stop Anagrelide to see if my counts come up. Has anyone had this issue I am sensitive to medication and my body seems to store medication.
Who has had this happen and what happened next?

Is there a reason you are to do all or none? Is the stop to be temporary? It would seem reasonable to continue, or resume after the stop, at a reduced dose. With zero dose, your PLT would likely go too high if you don't monitor frequently.
I would expect you'll get more frequent CBCs during any adjusting period.
When I was on HU I reduced the dose to improve my tolerance. It worked well enough.
I’m on Anagrelide and my hg is often very low, my white count isn’t too bad. I am prescribed iron tablets (ferrous sulfate) for a couple of months to bring the hg back up. I’m on them at the moment. I’ll be going for a check up in a couple of weeks so hopefully my hg will be back in normal levels. I’ve never been told to stop the Anagrelide. I used to be on hydroxy but developed a reaction to it.
Hi. Ihad a reaction to hydroxy too. I am.now off anagrelidenfor at least 1 month to see what my counts do. Unfortunately I can't take iron tablets reaction badly to them so on folic acid and b12 supplements
Hi, I've been on Anagrelide for 12 years and find I am always anaemic but having said that I was the same on aspirin only! Everyone is different.Hope you find something that works for you.
