Using antibiotics.
Hi everyone. As we are going into the season for coughs and sneezes and all manner of infectious things, it is worth bearing in mind the effects of antibiotics on AF sufferers. I saw a GP last night with an awful chest/bronchial infection. She prescribed Amoxicillin 55omg 3 times a day for a week. she

pseudomonas lung infection - and scared!
I have Bronchiectasis (diagnosed 18 months ago) and life long asthmatic. Suffering repeated lung infections treated by antibiotics usually amoxicillin. Sputum cultures usually come back negative! Have had a bad infection for 2 weeks now and sputum test confirms colonisation with pseudomonas. Dr. Rang

Apixaban and Antibiotics
Has anyone taken Apixaban with the antibiotic Amoxicillin Trihydrate? I am interested in whether the antibiotic over increases the effectiveness of Apixaban, or whether there are any other potential impacts? Thanks. TerryW.

Asthma advice needed please
Does anyone know how long it takes for antibiotics & steroids take to kick in? Amoxicillin & Prednisolone. Woke up last Saturday with short of breath, tight chest. Saw the Dr first thing on Monday (14th September) which she has given me the meds. Feel like I haven't improved though, and I'm using both

Side effects taking amoxicillin (3g in one dose)
I had a replacement aortic valve 14 years ago and was told to always take 3g of amoxicillin in a glass of water1 hour before dental treatment. This was fine for about 5 years and then I started getting a sore mouth. My mouth has got worse and worse over the years. This year I needed 2 extractions in

31 week midwife appointment, a week late.
Due to our busy schedule the past couple of weeks I had my routine appointment for 31 weeks a little bit late. But everything was fine. Midwife said I've just gained baby weight, no excess, which is nice π blood pressure "perfect" (her words) and I was measuring 34cms but she didn't seem too worried

Best method to get a good sample
Dear Gang This is slightly a gross question but none the less an important one, over the past month I have had a lung infection (through bronchiectasis) not my COPD despite being on azithromycin 3 times a week. I have had co-amoxiclav twice and still feel unwell and a little breathless and obiously

It wasn't the anti-biotics.
That caused my 7days of severe runs. Had to have doctors appointment yesterday and was told I had picked up a nasty bug and given 10, 500mg Ciprofloxacin tablets to be taken over 5 days. When I asked if the amoxicillin had caused it he said no, looked me in the eye and said is it city or united you support

Constant AB and steroids
Hi all Just wondering if anyone else is like myself. Nearly every month for over a year now I have to take AB and steroids. I'm so breathless at the moment and coughing a lot, so I have started again my AB and steroids. I seem to be fine for about 2 weeks after AB and steroids stop then it all seems

Amoxicillin
I am taking Leflunomide for RA and have been prescribed Amoxicillin for chest infection. Can anyone tell me if I have to stop taking the Leflunomide whilst taking the Amoxicillin. Have tried to contact my Rheumy Nurse but it's usually 48 hours before they get back to you. Thanks.x

Hi, I am new to this site and thyroid issues so I'd be grateful for some advice as I have my first endo appointment this week.
I was diagonised with stage 4 Hodgkin's lymphoma in oct 2012, 7 different types of chemo and 2 stem cell transplants later I'm still here and hodgkins free for 11 months. Due to treatments I have a non functioning spleen so I was on 961mg septrin, 500mg of amoxicillin & Aciclovir every day. Many meds

Chest x-ray
It's ages since I've posted on here but had a bit of a scare today. Feeling very tired and breathless so had appointment with GP. Sent me straight to hospital for chest X-ray and blood tests and was told to call for X-ray results in a week to ten days. I hadn't been home long when GP rang to say she'd
