Can anyone help interpret my ECHO please?
Apart from the shock of the heart failure, what I don’t understand is that my AF has been well controlled by
amiodarone
since diagnosis so why on earth would I get heart failure? And why would I now have a dilated right atrium?

Has a cardio version caused a different arrhythmia for anybody else?
I spent 4 nights on the ward before being discharged with a loading dose of
amiodarone
, this has now brought my heart rate down to 60 bpm. However I’m not very tolerant of
amiodarone
so not intending taking it for long and I’ve now got an ablation booked for 23rd November.

Mini maze update.
Unfortunately I had to be put on
Amiodarone
and for me that caused a big problem with my thyroid levels.

Stopping amiodarone - experiences?
What are folks' experiences stopping
amiodarone
after a long time on it? Having been on
amiodarone
for 5 years after OHS post-op AF in 2018 (and an AF history back to 1995, ablated in 2002) I have finally managed to get off it, now for over 3 months.

Looking for feedback regarding Asymptomatic Afib
Given my failed cardioversion my cardiologist discussed the option of an elective admission for either sotalol or
amiodarone
loading and a repeat cardioversion.

My consultant wants me to go on
amiodarone
and try a second cardio version (1st one didn’t work). I have read some horrible stuff about it. Does anyone have experience to share?

Post Ablation complications
Went down to cardiology where an ECG agreed with my Fitbit, told to up the Bisoprolol and
Amiodarone
added. Monday evening heart got to 190, then I went to bed, as I settled down some huge thumps as I fell asleep exhausted.

Here is how I was instructed with re: to amiodarone
I was told to take
amiodarone
for a two-three week regime prior to my cardio version. I was instructed to stop once I had the procedure. Nobody tolerates
amiodarone
well. Every warning I read told of how "toxic" the medication is.

AMIODARONE - FAINTING
I have been taking
Amiodarone
for my paroxysmal Afib for three years now. I take 100 mg each day. About ten days ago I passed out. I am not sure how long I was unconscious. When I regained my consciousness I tried to get up, but I could not.

Post ablation (1 week) and back in AFib. How often is this likely to happen over next few weeks?
I was on Sotolol but have now been swapped to
Amiodarone
(as of last week). Thanks in advance for replies.

I was put on
amiodarone
although I was very worried about it,because I was told it would help with a forthcomoning cardioversion, whilst I was told this had been successful,I am not sure whether I have gone back into AF and wonder whether I have to continue taking
amiodarone
if an ablation is the next

1 ablation 3 cardioversions
So then we went to
amiodarone
. Within 36 hours my bpm shot up to the 130’s on average … and stayed high even after we stopped the
amiodarone
after two weeks.
