How to cope with dry mouth?
I wonder if other people have the same problem and if so how do you cope with it? . I can only eat soft and juicy food. For example, I can only eat bread if I soak it first in my tea. I think my dry mouth is a side effect of Artane.

Can anyone help me with my condition? I am living in South Africa.
About 7 years ago I started feeling very, very anxious and my neck started pulling to one side and slight tremmor too. I use to use artane in a very weak dosage not because of Parkinson's but the Neurologist then said I can give it a try...it may just help me for what he diagnosed me for and that was

I am 47, have put weight on over the last 5 years and cholesterol slipped upwards from 3 to 7 in that time. 5'8" + 15 stone.Used to be fit!
My father and his two brothers all died of heart attacks in their late 50's as did their father. I am now experiencing chest pains relieved by Burps! occasional pains across top of chest and in tops of arms...(sometimes left sometimes right). Have experienced several times my jaw and neck spasming and

The Health Benefits of Stopping Smoking
Stopping smoking is the single most important thing that you can do to improve your health. That is a fact. Unfortunately, not every benefit is visible and you can be left thinking to yourself that you don't feel any different. However, there are a lot of changes going on behind the scenes

IMT Scanning
A couple of months ago I was lucky enough to be offered this scan on the NHS. This technology can measure the thickness of the artery wall in your neck and see if there is any plaque. It is a good indication of the state of your coronary arteries apparently. My results have just shown that one artery

Should I be taking Statins?
I'm a 65 year old female - don't smoke or drink and I'm not obese. However, my cholesterol level has always been on the high side and I am due for another check next week. My father was diagnosed with angina in his early fifties, had his first heart attack when he was 52 and died from heart disease

To statin or not to statin - that is the question?
I have FH which means that either my mum or dad had FH (probably my dad but undiagnosed). Unfortunately they are both now dead but neither died from or had heart disease. One of their parents must have had FH but again no heart disease. All were heavy smokers, increasing their risk further. None of them

Heart Problems and Lupus
Hi, my wife has experienced chest pains for 4 weeks, went to the local GP twice, neither Doctor examined her at all 3 days ago we went to A & E, they did an ECG and it showed all the signs of a heart attack, but blood tests show no damage to the heart, so they put it down to Gastric reflux

Is this Costochondritis (chest pain)?
I have just watched the poignant video posted and the first symptom shown was costochondritis and I wondered what other people's experiences of this were. I've never been diagnosed with it. When I've read about it, it says it goes on for weeks, but when I've had this pain it last a few seconds or minutes

Hi, have come across this site as I am trawling through the internet to try to get answers to all the questions that are spinning through my mind. Has anyone had a Coronary Calcium Heart Scan?
Just wondering - they really intrigue me! I'm thinking of inquiring as to the cost of getting one done privately to see if/how much plaque build-up I already have. I don't have any symptoms of coronary heart disease and I'm young, so my GP/Consultant wouldn't send me for one, but it would be interesting

stenting after effect
Hi all. I had a heart attack last December and have since had 2 stents placed. What I would like to ask is,should I still be getting aches around the chest(not heart attack type)after 2 months? and could this be due to Statins?. Im having a hard time adjusting to my new condition, how did you cope?

Artane?
Can anyone give me some info about artane? My neuro wants me to try this, and I'm not sure what questions to ask before I decide. Thanks!
