Adizem Slow Release and Flecainide

The Adizem has brought my blood pressure down to normal levels which obviously is a good thing. Many thanks for any input.

Blood Pressure Tablets

Only a couple of days later I saw my Consultant regarding my Afib who changed Amlodipine for Adizem 120mg once a day. I also take Flecainide 50mg twice a day for Afib. Does anyone else take Adizem and have any side effects?

Regular double beats?

But like I saw with Adizem I am getting more and more Afib epsidoes that are lasting longer and longer, sometimes up to 12 hours. The cardilogy department upped both the Carvedilol to 6.25mg and the flec to 100mg twice daily, but that doesn't appear to have helped.

Heavy arms and legs…

He suggested changing the bisoprolol for Adizem as he thought my symptoms were probably related to the beta blockers.

Heart rate too high

Phoned hospital who told me to take Adizem XL 240mg every day and sent a prescription to my pharmacy. Heart rate now down to between 80 and 90 which is still too high. Looking at the leaflet Adizem does not claim to reduce heart rate.

Bisoprolol alternative to avoid cold extremities

I tried switching to a calcium beta blocker (Adizem) which solved the cold issues, but didn't seem to control the AFib. So I switched to a lower does of Bisoprolol (1.25mg at 7am and 7pm) but after 2 weeks I am still finding cold fingers/toes being particularly bad.

Atrial Tachycardia and Flecainide

I was diagnosed two years ago with SVT- Atrial Tachycardia and had an ablation. I had successful resolution of the Atrial Tachycardia and then it suddenly returned in December of 2022. I went in for another ablation and it was unsuccessful as the EP could not induce the rhythm. I was super bummed

Dilzem availablity in your country

I live in Jordan and have been on Dilzem for about 5 years. It’s the only medication which lowers my heart rate effectively. Am in permanent Afib. Lately, Dilzem is no longer available here and the agent advised that Pfizer stopped producing it . Just wondering if this is true . Do you still have it

Also Inspired by Paul's Post: beta blocker vs. calcium channel blocker

Hello fellow Afibbers, Although I thought to myself, "It's just me," this update might resonate with someone else. After my initial diagnosis a year and a half ago, I was put on the beta blocker metoprolol --first at a low dosage, then increasing to the max (100 mg / day). It did next to nothing in

Third ablation, beta blocker change or something else?

After discussing all this with the nurses, we wondered about wether it was the Adizem not working, but they tell me that the beta blocker is more for rate control, as on regular flecainide with organised atrial arrhythmias a beta blocker is indicated.
