Looking to connect with fellow Adult ADHD folks
Hi everyone, It's really weird for me to get on here and not be able to use my actual name, also now seeing other people's usernames, somewhatoutdoorsman seems somewhat non-characterizing. So I suppose I'll do it here. Single male, 37, (god I hope I'm not violating any of the rules). Found out last

ALWAYS get a second opinion
I have been through 5 psychiatrists in my life. 3 were absolutely terrible and didn't know what they were doing. This is very common in psychiatry. The quality control is probably the worst of all fields of medicine. It is a guessing game. No lab work to refer to, no ultrasound or biopsy. It's a trial

I need to vent!! Please, needing empathy and understanding.
I take Adderall and my doctors office policy states that I must communicate every month to refill my prescription. The reason for my vent is.... I DID NOT remember to call on line (website)?...O'yes I do...about ten times a day.....but everyone knows that thoughts come in and out just as fast

8 yo son with terrible insomnia on Adderall XL
My son has been on Adderall XL 15mg for about 6 weeks, and in past 3 weeks has developed terrible insomnia. He just lays in bed and can’t fall asleep for hours. A few times he has been up until 3.30 or 4am. He takes 5mg melatonin around 7.30-8 and is fully in bed by 9. Our psychiatrist suggested to give

Newly diagnosed
I was diagnosed with ADHD earlier this week. I have a question about adderall. I’m sure I’ll be on a low dose because I’m sensitive to medications. Would anyone be so kind as to give me a heads up about the side effects? I know it can be different for everyone & I’ve read about the side effects of the

CBD to mitigate side effects
So after about 2 years, my 15 year old has a good regimen of
adderall
XR
15mg. She was not using it on weekends but has started, saying that it's helpful in other aspects of life - like even not getting frustrated by not have focus to clean her room properly.

I'm currently on Adderall 30mg and it works very well for me but I've noticed that all throughout my adult life I've had a few problems at work.. mainly with relationships/conversing with co-workers

Horror Story - The Stigmatization of ADHD
I had to get this off my chest to people who can understand. We've all felt stigmatized to some degree by friends, family, even the medical community that is supposed to help us. It's that last point that I want to touch on. The ones who are supposed to treat us and help us get to a better place are

Chronic fatigue
Hi everyone. I am diagnosed with non epileptic seizures and wasn’t aware this was a sign of FND, my neurologist discharged me as soon as he found out it wasn’t epilepsy so I’ve just been left to get on with it since 2017. I have seizures at least twice a month and occasionally clusters where I will have

Managing Hyper Focus & Giving Lectures No One Wants To Hear ?? 😊
I got diagnosed a little over a month ago. I’m on Adderall and it’s been a marvel. And it also feels like a devilish whirlwind. I get into manic episodes of talking, on & on. My sweet husband is putting up with this so kindly, but it’s hard on him. I also do the Hyper-focus thing. Hours spent chasing

Impax Generic Adderall
Does anyone have experience with the generic of Adderall by Impax? I'm on Vyvanse but I can't afford it anymore and I couldn't afford name brand Adderall so I got a generic but I've heard some bad things about it.

Struggling ADHD student
Hello everyone. I've been trying to finish my undergrad degree for a long time and even though I was under treatment during my early 20's I still managed to do very poorly academically and put school on hold for about 9 years. I also stopped taking medication around that time until now. My challenges

Anybody notice different effects with different generics?
When I was on Ritalin I noticed it sharply. Night and day between labs/manufacturers. With Adderall, I feel the differences are a bit more subtle, yet apparent. I swear I've reacted better to medication one month more so than others when the pharmacist told me they switched suppliers. Anybody else keen

Most psychiatrists suck....
Most doctors, especially mental health doctors, just plain suck. I've found research they've never heard of yet takes a 10 second Google search to find. There's doctors that stick to specific medications they prescribe and will only prescribe those. Go to another shrink and he'll say yes to a and b but

What if medicine is not allowed?
I have taken adderall for over 35 years but had to stop due to an irregular heart beat. Alternatives caused problems and now I am not on any medication. However my A fib and irregular heart beat have been replaced by a regular heart beat. I am forgetful, more impulsive and overall less intelligent.

26F Late diagnosis: any advice appreciated
I spent my whole life trying to be neuro-typical when in all reality I had undiagnosed adhd the whole time. I had no idea I had it until my partner asked me if I had ever been tested three months ago when working from home made my symptoms worse. After working with my psychiatrist I got my official diagnosis
