Does anyone have experience with the generic of Adderall by Impax? I'm on Vyvanse but I can't afford it anymore and I couldn't afford name brand Adderall so I got a generic but I've heard some bad things about it.

Here are the phone numbers of 6 kinds of medical discount cards. These are not insurance cards but can give you great discounts. Also try calling Astra Zeneca. On certain meds they might help U with a large discount as well. However I believe it might be connected to the manufacturer of the med.

Before I was on Medi Cal, and especially since some psychotrophic meds hadn't gone generic and were outrageously expensive, i.e. $150 for 30 day supply, I was often able to use one of the above-mentioned cards ESPECIALLY GOOD RX and saved a considerable
amount of money. hope this is helpful to U

I had a similar question when I could not afford the co-pay for Vyvanse. However, I found that the generic version of Adderall XR worked better than Vyvanse for me (given that the two individual timed releases of the drug was more effective than Vyvanse's multiple releases). And the generic is less than $10/month at Walgreens and Safeway, without insurance. The Shire/Impax lawsuit was about ordering processes, not about the quality of the drug.
Thanks for the info! I was more concerned with the amount of people who said that it didn't work for them at all. Everyone is different but it's nice to hear it helped someone. I'm hoping it does the same for me.
Generics of adderall/ritalin can really run the gamut in terms of quality and effectiveness. I don't know about impact specifically, but if it is giving you problems, I would suggest trying to get your your insurance to cover brand name through some sort of waiver, prior authorization, etc. If you need your doctor to get it through, nag him/her until it gets done. I wrote and article post about a generic version of ritalin from kvk tech being issued a warning letter from the fda for quality issues, so if you're experiencing negative side effects or feeling significantly differences compared to vyvanse, it's definitely not just you, or just in your head. Doctors and pharmacists have told .e that there is a 10% difference in generics compared to brand, however I suspect that this is an extremely conservative estimate, and that the real difference is much higher. But even 10% can be a huge difference, based on your individual biochemistry. Bottom line: don't put up with crap generics. For adhd meds, I have personally noticed significant differences between manufacturers, so bring it up with your doctor, bother the hell out of your insurance company, and get the override to have them cover the brand because it is medically necessary, if possible. They may say it's not possible or give you hassles, but most will end up covering the brand, if you follow up enough and request to speak a supervisor and keep going up the chain. Read through your insurance policy, find out the specifics, and don't let them off the hook. Your health is more important than their pockets. Hope that helps.
