goserelin and ACTH
I am wondering how and if GnRH medications like Zoladex impact the
ACTH
production and if the activity of the adrenal production of adrenal androgens feeds the prostate cancer cells independently of the LH / testosterone route.

Endocrinologist wants me to taper faster
I also got my baseline morning cortisol,
ACTH
and DHEA tested, and they were all in the normal range. So she says my adrenals have already started coming back on line. And as such, she wants me to taper much faster than advocated here.

Could I not be producing enough
ACTH
? If it's not that then any advice how to raise cortisol naturally would be great.

ACTH Cortisol test enquiry
I don't understand page 1 that states
ACTH
Roche Method * 15. I have searched the Internet and cannot see anything about * 15 in
ACTH
results. I understand that the
ACTH
test is solely testing for Addisons, (I think?)

Secondary adrenal insufficiency after immunotherapy
My
ACTH
is <1.5 the rest of the hormones are ok. I was started with 100mg dose and within 2 weeks tapered down to 25mg. Was on 25 until middle of July but since June my appetite disappeared and the Sodium levels are constantly bellow limit(128-134max). Couldn`t eat anymore.

Update #4: Adrenal Results
He anticipated that I would have produced much more cortisol from an
ACTH
injection than 394, hence this new diagnosis.

ACTH blood test
My GP has sent me for an
ACTH
blood test. Is this the correct test or should he have asked for
ACTH
Stimulation test? Will the
ACTH
test be sufficient? I am almost at 3.5mg Pred. To be fair, I asked if I needed an
ACTH
test - I didn't realise there were two.

Thyroid and cortisol results
Cortisol was just below range, which should trigger an endo referral for a synacthen/
ACTH
test, but not bad at all considering the saliva results. I'm curious about the albumin though, which is just scraping into range - does that mean anything?

Adrenal Insufficiency treatment?
I asked the Rheumy if she could test for adrenal insufficiency and she mentioned the
ACTH
stim test, so I asked her if she could order one for me and she said no, I have to have my general practitioner do that and that she's never ordered one before.

Adrenals are working!
I had a
ACTH
Stimulation Test this morning and just got the results back from my Endo. She said even better than she expected. So now I can start tapering off of hydrocortisone at 1/2 tablet weekly. Currently I am on two 5mg tablets in morning and Two 5mg tablets in evening.

More advice please!
I also wonder if there might be a cortisol issue too, although my last morning cortisol was 315 nmol/L [133-537] with a corresponding
ACTH
of 24 ng/L [0-46].

Update #5: Back to front
The problem is with the brain that has a consequential impact on the adrenals) For me, my results demonstrate a poor (but not dreadful) response to
ACTH
indicating I have a primary adrenal issue, ie. The adrenals themselves are overworked.

Adrenal Insufficiency???
I have had the cortisol and
ACTH
blood test....waiting for rheumo to inform me if they are OK. Is there anyone out there who has experienced these same very debilitating sessions and if so did you find anything that helped cope with them?
