Hi all, just wondering if anyone has had issues with internal Sweets? Maybe causing issues with internal organs. I have had my gallbladder out in 2015 and last night my appendix. Anyone had issues with Sweets internally after any surgery? Thanks Sweeties.

Hi Cinta15,

Hope you're okay after your appendectomy.

On rare occasions, SS can affect internal organs, but as far as I'm aware, there are no documented cases of the gallbladder or appendix being directly affected by SS. However, SS does have the potential to affect any part of the body. Here's a full-list of SS symptoms that have been reported in medical literature: helpforsweetssyndromeuk.wor...

I have a polyp on my gallbladder and am removing it soon. It got delayed due to other pressing medical issues. Because of this issue, I’ve looked in med journals and although rare, there is documented association to SS.

Thanks Tg124,

This is a case of SS being triggered by gall bladder cancer, rather than SS causing gall bladder symptoms.

All the best with the polyp removal.

Hi Cinta15,

A member of our Facebook group just posted to say that her dad's SS affected his lungs.

Another member of our FB group has mentioned that she had acute pancreatitis.

Wow I must have a look at the FB page. Thanks so much for the info. I did see my gp Monday who doesn’t think it’s related. Just more “good luck”. Got a referral to a Rumatologist anyway to try slow the immune system from over working so will see how that goes.

2 years ago when I had suspsected diverticulitus they would not do an ordianry colynooscopy (sp) for fear of it being SS. Evenutally had urgent surgery and it was NOT the problem. But they were concerned that it was and on recent admission they were worred about my right lung (which are already stuffed) and in the end decided to see if the prednsone helped rather than antibiotics. It did and is still helping. They raised the possibility of it being interna SS which was interesting.
