Woohoo! ๐๐๐ We are rolling โฆ.. Or rather working out! Judging by the number of replies to these posts, many of us are truly well in the habit of doing some sort of Strength and Flexibility sessions in the days between running, โpaintingโ gps art, finishing C25k, walking new routes or completing half-marathons! Hope you are feeling the benefit as much as I am. (Ran my first 8k yesterday! How did that happen!?)
So big wave ๐๐ฝ to our sister/brother forums: Couch to 5k; Bridge to 10k; Marathon Running and Active 10.๐๐ฝ๐๐ฟ๐๐ป๐
Back to our seasonal Strength and Flex challenge: Full introduction of this 4 week plan from last Sunday is pinned, but again in short: join me in counting down to Xmas. Each Sunday thereโll be a weekly list of workouts, you choose two or add your own. Elf workouts will also feature, that is at least one video workout will have a Christmas theme!
Here we go!
โ 2 Sundays to go to XMas (choose 2 this week or post your own)
๐คธ๐ปโโ๏ธRecommended by Oldfloss: if you have a treadmill, hereโs an hour of gorgeous running or walking. Iโm even considering just jogging on the spot watching this gorgeous video!
๐คธ๐ปโโ๏ธRecommended by Lexi6, for those ABBA lovers out there (I know you exist! I actually married one๐คฃ), here a great little walk that will get you moving: Up to the BEat Fit (16 min) Shrink Your Waist | 1 Mile | Disco Boogie to ABBA ๐ฅ
(Credits, part 1/2) Well done everyone. Here the credits to everyone of us VWBs (virtual workout bodies)! And as we are so many, itโll have to be over two replies! Our virtual rooms are getting crowded!๐๐ฝ๐ช๐ฆต
Cannot wait for this!! The belly dancing is a definite!! Oh my!!!
I am doing okay so far... incorporating new routines into my daily regime.. I have continued with the Bodyfit with Amy exercises . Arms, legs and standing ab crunches.
Days when I care for small runner in training, are real workout days too... at 4 years old, she never stops and if you want some serious Yoga practice try looking at Cosmic Kids... which we do together... you may think... easy, but gosh.... up and down and up and down!
We do the story book ones... Going on a Bear Hunt, is such fun! Currently, there is a Festive one out now.. and would be great to do if you have small children or grandchildren

That is so lovely! Your post got me hunting out all sorts of things! I love the Seasonal Cosmic Kids video!!! And your mention of virtual walks got me down a whole different rabbit hole of YouTube videos for treadmill walking and running! Nice!!! ๐๐ฝ๐๐๐๐ Have fun doing the belly dance! I really like that one and it got my husband commenting very favourably about my new moves! ๐คฃ๐ฅ๐๐๐ช
๐Sounds good..I have loads of links for Virtual runs..I use my treadmill when it is icy. Ice us a no go for me....There is a lovely one. I use...It is great.
I find it therapeutic and a really great support after injury too.
After I broke my ribs a few years ago...I used my treadmill and virtual runs...and my leg strength was amazing when I headed out again!

Wow!! ๐คฉ๐คฉ All new to me (still a runner newbie exploring this amazing world), and I donโt have a treadmill, but seeing those amazing virtual runs, treadmill running suddenly becomes immensely attractive.
Bought for husband and I.. for me specifically for icy conditions, after a fall on ice. Never again! And after injury ..excellent for building back to full strength . Worth every penny!
Iโm a day behind! Still have one left to choose from week 2, but have done the winter wonderland workout from last week! Belly dancing looks fun though!
Nice!!๐๐ฝ๐ And there is always time in the festive break for catching up and trying some more workouts! Belly dancing is a good one! ๐๐ฝ๐
Just posted my 1st workout for the week, and hubby and I chose MVMT-with-Cailinโs Day 1 of her โThe mountains are callingโ series.
Itโs as good as the title suggests, and for me she is the equivalent for Pilates, what Adriene is for Yoga. At least for the moment, as my follower-ship can be fickle in this age of workout abundance.
So for anyone never having tried a Pilates workout, this one might just win you over.
So many to try CBDB and I love those treadmill runs Old Floss. Wow! I love Gina Bโs energy, if time is a little short she does a fab one mile Abba Walk (about 14 mins) but first I have to try that 30 minute festive workout.

Yeah, those treadmill walks are amazing. Iโm thinking of starting indoor jogging on the spot even without a treadmill just to get that video experience! ๐๐๐ฝ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐
I have just tried out the foam roller workout with Louise Taube. I found the style of the video a little peculiar with the extra voiceover bits on top of the video sound - felt a bit like subliminal messaging ๐ I like the moves though, nice for the desk-jockey!
I got a link from James Dunne in my inbox to his 'I tried Eliud Kipchoge's core workout' video the other day, so I thought I'd give it a go today as well. And it was pretty hard, but good!
Oh no somehow I've missed this week's workouts ๐ I'm still on Winter Wonderland โby the way my Garmin forerunner move IQ feature keeps thinking I've gone swimming when I'm doing this !!
