While we can still get outside for exercise according to the government guidelines here in the UK, that isn’t the case in some parts of the world and may not be here too soon. Just saw this from Nike and it says it better than I could.

*While I used to look like a Nike sponsored athlete (in terms of kit, not physique 🤣) I’m not... I tend to wear Decathlon, Aldi and Lidl gear more these days.

Just heard in the news that in parts of Italy people are not allowed to go outside, even for exercise, that slogan sums everything up.

As I told you yesterday I ran a 5K, today as there is not a cloud in the sky I am going for a 12K walk, I have already done my plank and kettlebell exercises, no pushups today, sorry, I am now getting ready to go that 12K walk, I will NOT have my Smartphone with me.

Yeah... that’s why I was thinking about being indoors more... we are in some respects a couple of weeks behind them with this. I hope that we are still allowed out, and hopefully everyone is sensible with the current restrictions so that we don’t need to be forced indoors.

India has everyone indoors all day today, and they’re going to stand on balconies and in windows at 5 (I think) to make some noise in appreciation of their emergency services. Just been listening to radio 5 and they say it’s being observed really well.

Enjoy the walk... and the detachment from the tech.

I've seen something that suggests we should all give a big round of applause for the NHS from our front doors at 8pm on 26th March 😀

Just back from that 12K walk, tempted to run b it t didn't because I saw 10 runners, only one male, the rest female, one of which was a trail runner, I would say running at 25 minute 5K pace.

I am so grateful for my daily yoga practice. Yes, daily again, hooray. The only day I didn't do it this week was when I decided to watch Gardener's World (which involves being out of bed and on the sofa) and was fit only to crawl back to bed after that.

I’ll be careful to avoid gardeners world I think, if it’s that high intensity 🤣

Good to hear that you’re back to daily yoga. I’m looking at all sorts of things to get my daily endorphin fix if/when outdoors isn’t an option.

Hahaha... watched it for soothing qualities, it's the being out of bed that's a challenge.

Plus who knew how many doorknobs and handles we had in the house that need cleaning every day currently?

We aren’t closing doors apart from the two we can’t avoid 🤣

There are so many free things springing up - some app usage, but also virtual fitness routines.

One of our local businesses, K1 Fitness is posting free daily workouts every day on a Facebook group facebook.com/groups/2955872... which is free for anyone to join.

Today's workout is a taster before next week's structured sessions:

Sunday Funday WORKOUT 1 - Deck Of Cards

Each suit is an exercise

The number of the cards is the reps

Picture cards are 10

Ace is 11 (or 1)

Joker is 1min rest (you need two of these)

Shuffle the deck well and get to work.

Pull the cards from the top and work through the movements.

This session is

-

Hearts: Squats

Diamonds: Dips

Clubs: Star jumps

Spades: Plank Leg Raises

If you know these movements are going to be too tough there is an alternative session -

Hearts: Squat to chair

Diamonds: Shoulder press (light weights or tins/water bottles)

Clubs: Star jumps

Stars: Kneeling plank from hands with shoulder taps

There is a video that demonstrates it, although not sure if you need to be a member of the group to view it: facebook.com/david.kingsbur...
