Please help!

Hi, I am new here and I have recently decided that I am so overweight that it is time to do something about it, yet I know that I will have a hard time doing it on my own. It is too easy to get frustrated and disappointed. So, I am hoping to get some motivation, encouragement and support from others on here and I will be more than willing to return the same type of support to others. I hope that some of you will help me! Thank you.

Hi there and welcome to our forum, there are a lot of us who are doing the NHS strength and flex programs and some are part of the NHS C25K and the walking for health forums, there is also the NHS weight loss program that has a forum. Between us all we can help keep you motivated and not feel like you are alone. On the frustration front I always think it is best to start slow and easy and build up, it always feels better when you achieve something so don't set your goals too far ahead. Please keep coming back and letting us know how your getting on.

I'm new too, know what you mean about frustration. It is hard to create new habits especially with no encouragement

I live with a partner who can eat anything and not put any weight on, I just have to look at food lol

Think we all need forums like this to talk to like minded people as they are the only ones who know how you feel and can encourage you. One step at a time and don't beat yourself up, just do your best x

In the same situation. Great GP prescribed me 12 week programme at Slimming World on NHS. You need to be dedicated as they have to report back to GP on progress. In my 4th week and have lost nearly 10 lbs!

Thank you everyone for all of your kind comments. I appreciate them, but unfortunately, I was taken to the hospital yesterday with chest pains. I didn't have a heart attack yet, but they say that I am on the verge of one, so I have to be very careful until I can get in with a cardiologist on March 8th. I guess I won't be doing any exercise program yet, but as soon as I get a clean bill of health, please be assured that I will be getting busy. I am very upset with myself that I let my weight get so far out of hand and contributing to this problem. I should have done something much sooner!
