Barium was normal, why do I need Gastroscopy?

Hi - my barium swallow was normal, so I am just wondering why the consultant said I could have a motility problem caused by the Raynaud's, and have to have the camera down?

Got my appt now, I go on Thurday. Will choose sedation.

My understanding is that the barium swallow does not reveal the finer detail that a camera will. Good luck with it, hope the result is good news

BarbJ is quite right. The camera will give a more detailed and accurate result. You'll be fine with sedation. All the very best for Thursday.
