Tep, just had two break in two weeks of each other. It really is a pain, they say mine is due to the steroids and the Sjogren's. At least they were able to put in a regular filling to fill the wholes instead of having to have very expensive crowns.

This is why I refuse to take conventional medicine, too many side effects. Try a good herbalist, you may be amazed at what simple (and often free, inour gardens)remedies there are !

Hello SandraMarie, I am a gardener, and would love more information on herbal remedies. What to plant, there uses, and amounts to use. Also, the source of this information. Thank you so much. I take more supplements than meds. I get tired of taking so many pills.

I haven't actually had to plant anything. The main plant that I use is The Ribwort Plantain leaves which grows readily in the rough on sides of roads etc. all through the Spring and Summer months, and just happens to grow in abundance in my garden. My main reason for eating it is for it's antibiotic properties, as I also have Bronchiectasis, which means I have constant chest infections. The wonderful herbalist who recommended this said it is also good for all the other CREST related symtoms. Over the years she has also suggested Meadowsweet for circulation, Slippery Elm (which I hated) for the acid reflux.Gohtu kola,in the form of tea (I'm not sure if I've spelt that correctly) .There are some very good publications available, and I'm sure if you googled in herbal remedies and your particular need, something may come up? Best of Luck !, ( I'll let you know if my erratic memory throws anything else up) :)

I have a lot of problems with my teeth. Also with my gums from the bone in my jaw because of steroids. Also, can't have extractions because of the bisphosphonates.

I've had a terrible year with my teeth and gums and have several crumbling teeth and a wobbly one. I have an appointment with a private dentist the end of this month to see what can be done. Trying to smile my way through it, even if its a bit of a toothless grin!!!

Thanks... I thought it was b/c of the steroids. I never have major problems with my teeth til now.

Yes, I have had root canals in almost every tooth and at least 10 are capped. Mine is due to Sjogrens. Grinding is often a big problem as well.

yes, I have had this problem in the past. I have had teeth crack and break, and when I had to have a root canal in one, there were so many calcifications deep on the root, it had to have softening agent placed in the root canal and wait a month to finish the procedure. Then, the very tip end of the needle broke off in the root. The doctors say it is due to sjogren's and my other autoimmune diseases that cause bone spurs and dry tissues. I found that if I use the Biotine products, rinse, toothpaste, and spray that I have not had this problem in several years. Also, since I went on Methotrexate and Humira this also seems to help. I also have chronic dry eyes and have eye plugs. I do not take steroids, and my rheumatologist does not try to get me to take them. I have the best rheumatologist, and I am very lucky to have found her.

I also suffer from Sjogrens and Limited Scleroderma. My teeth, although strong, have become very brittle and broken and I have had to give up wearing my dental bridge because it causes the gripper tooth to become loose, which then causes gum abscesses. Gappy and teeth-grinding - very attratictive! I am due to go to the Eastman Dental Clinic in London, where they specialise in Scleroderma-related dental problems so am hoping for some sort of good news to control this ongoing problem as I would like to keep as many teeth as possible!

LAST SUMMER I WAS SITTING AT MY GRANDSON'S BASEBALL GAME AND SPIT OUT HALF A TOOTH. WITHIN 6 MONTHS I HAVE HAD 9 TEETH PULLED, 1 FILLED AND 2 PARTIALS MADE. 3 YEARS AGO I HAD 6 OTHERS FILLED. MY FRONT TEETH WERE FINE AND WITHIN 4 MONTHS HAD TO BE FILLED. MY DENTIST SAID HE HAD NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THAT BEFORE.I ALSO HAVE SMALL MOUTH THAT DRIVES MY DENTIST NUTS. JUST THANKFUL IT IS OVER FOR A LITTLE WHILE.

Yes I have NoWay, 3 all the same week. I thought it was related to chemo tx-for skin cancer at the time. But, after reading these posts I wonder about that. I have posted a question as well called--Raynauds and Diagnosed Health Issues Questionnaire What Do You Think? I hope folks will go in and list their dx. there so we can create a POLL questionnair--use it individually with our physicians and maybe pull it all together in one big checklist for those new to all of this. Stay warrm, cold toes
