Very sore finger ...painful to the touch & swollen :(
You should not let it fester. Our sores do not heal on their own. Are you on any medication? Seek help from your GP or rheumatologist as soon as possible.
I agree with Zenabb. I would contact the specialist nurse and ask if you can see them so they can look at it and advise further - you may need IV antibiotics.
A similar thing happened to me last January but it was my index finger - I was admitted as an emergency put on IV antibiotics and ILOPROST .....
If it gets infected there is a high likelihood it will ulcerate.
I had a finger ulcer Dec/Jan time. It was very painful. But I regularly bathed it sometimes by just holding it in a mug of hot water to which I added some ginger powder. (I read that ginger aids circulation, which is something that Raynauds sufferers seem to have problems with.
It would throb like mad. But that was the infection. I also wore gloves at night to keep the area warm and clean. Eventually it was less painful and healing started. I was due to have iloprost treatment. But I managed to get it to heal before it was scheduled.
I took photos so that I could compare whether it was any better or worse.
