It's been a tiring and disheartening week. The symptoms are coming back in spades and on top of it, I have this awful itching that just comes on and disappears. Any ideas of how to mitigate the itching?
Now what?: It's been a tiring and... - Scleroderma & Ray...
Now what?
At low times everything comes back, but it goes as well. Rest as much as you can but also do things it helps. For the itching I used to take and anti-histamine. It worked. I have stopped because it is no so bad now.
Keep Calm and Carry on. Best wishes.
The winter weather doesn't help scleraderma patients...dry air creates dry skin...ITCHING!. Try using a humidifier to create better air, use a good lotion often, body wash must have a good mosterizer in it and remember not to scratch! Good luck, the winter is heck on me as well, but not intolerable.
When I was first diagnosed with Scleroderma I had hives and itching as well as burning. It was horrible I went to the dr. He told me to take Benadryl and prescribed xanax for me. So now when I feel an episode coming on I take a benadryl right away. It usually helps.
My dermatologist recommended the anti-itch lotion Sarna. It is amazing!! The itching isn't anything like it was when I was first diagnosed, but I still keep a bottle of Sarna in the house. It also works for insect bites, etc. I hope it works as well for you! Good Luck!
