It's not Renards (which means fox in English), it's Renaud's after the French man who first described it. Was it your rheumatologist that suggested it? I have never heard of it before. Good luck.

I had a trial lumbar sympathectomy a few years ago, the doc I saw in Dundee hoped it would help with raynauds in my feet and at the time I was told it wasn't possible to do anything for the hands so it's interesting you've had this op. When I had it they injected anaesthetic into the nerve in my spine that constricted the blood vessels in my feet but when I woke up my feet were burning and apparently that's why they didn't actually sever the nerves as it would have permanently left me like that.... I'd be interested to hear if your hand is improved after the op. I hope you're doing ok.

My fingers have been cracking recently and one has become a little infected like a small ulcer. Something I tried which seems to have made some improvement was a handbath with hot water and ginger.

Ginger is supposed to be good for circulation. (Was in an aromatherapy book). I used dried ginger. The stuff you would add in a cake mix.

I am not sure if I just got lucky and there was some healing to come anyway or whether the ginger made a difference.

Thought it may be worth mentioning so others can test :-)
