How will I know if I have Scleroderma

I have looked at the list of symptoms and have four of the five listed .I was diagnosed with Raynaud's last year after my hands started to ulcerate.My hospital visit to see the rhuematologist lasted all of two minutes and I mever recieved a follow up appointment .

Ring the secretary of your rheumatologist and ask for another appointment unless you have, in those two minutes, been given tests arranged which will help in your diagnosis. You can only know if you have scleroderma as a result of the tests.

Thank you .I will have to contact my GP as I don't know the Rhuematologists name .

you need an ANA blood test, if it is scleroderma it will most likely come back speckled. good luck!

There is a blood test SCL-70, if it is positive, you definitely have Scleroderma. I would suggest you see a new dr. and specifically ask for the blood test that will determine if you have Scleroderma. Good luck.
