Safest drug for Scleroderma

It seems that most of the drugs used in Scleroderma have severe side-effects. So, which one is the most safest one with minimal side-effects?

Morning Dacharya, I think it is more a question of which drugs suit each person individually, we are all different and have different responses to different drugs, what I can take without side affects may make you more ill. I have been taking Methotrexate and Hydroxychloroquine without any problem along with Omeprazole, for many years now, but I know other people who have had bad side effects. I think we have to trust our specialists (probably rather than our GPs) there are many different drugs available now some I have never heard of other than on this chat. Perhaps I am just fortunate. Good luck

Hello, I have been taking Mycophenylate Mofetil for many years and not had any problems. Hope you find something that suits you, take care.

I get problem with skin like skin hardening and the skin on my palm often peels off. Do you get any problem like that?

Only have skin peeling after an ulcer or infection in one of my fingers is healing up. Despite using Cetreban lotion, my hands and fingers always seem on the dry side.

What side-effects you got from Mycophenylate Mofetil ?

I came to know that some are taking Rituximab injection too. Are you not taking that?

Don't you get Raynaud's? My hands and legs get too cold in cold weather.

No effects from Mycophenylate at all. Never had a Rituximab injection, so am lucky in comparison to others . Yes I do have Raynaud’s, fingers and toes affected most. My legs often feel cold like water is running down them and my nose gets cold.

Are you having any extra medication?
