This is bit out there but I know someone in the forum normally comes up trumps 🙂.
Last week I had an overnight watch from hospital to rule out sleep apnea . Results in about a month
Over the last few months I have been wearing my own vivosmart watch . My pulse ox levels at night drop to 80% sometimes for about 30 minutes . Then they go back up to about 92% then drop again .
IF the hospital rule out sleep apnea does anyone have any ideas why this could be happening ?
Lung function test normal , no asthma or breathing difficulties .
thank you 🙏 so much for reading . I might be wrong but surely this has got to be related to the relentless headache 🤕
take care all xxxx
ps : always a chance watch could be inaccurate of course

no ideas - my old and dysfunctional Fitbit often does same but I assume it’s unreliable. I don’t have obstructive sleep apnea but I do have cervicogenic headaches and newly diagnosed aura migraine so can relate to the symptom of relentless headaches and how disabling this is. Hope you get to bottom of this soon. Please post and let us know xx
Oldted 😘 so lovely to have you pop up ! Thank you for your reply . How you getting on with your new adjustments ? I have been thinking of you 😘xx
Just googled your headache 😣.. I’ve never had neck /spine xrayed or mri . They did head and found pituitary bulky but didn’t seem fussed . I wonder if my next step should be subtly suggesting an X-ray at least ? Thank you 🙏
😊🥰 I’d ask for an MRI of your neck if you can because X-rays don’t show enough detail. My MRIs have to come from my neurologist so you may need referring by your GP to one for investigations of cause of headaches. Shame they haven’t already done this for you already since it’s been an ongoing issue but it’s never too late to be a pushy patient! 😉xx
Hi Tiggywoos, I’m sorry to read that you are having these problems but was interested to read your story about dropping sat levels and it must be quite frightening for you. I think my husband suffers from sleep apnea, he actually stops breathing sometimes and I have to gently shake him, he takes in a deep gasp and then starts breathing again. Other than this he is perfectly healthy. He has suffered from this for quite a few years but stubbornly won’t see a doctor! I have just googled this and it seems that your sat levels are quite low and so could be indicative of sleep apnea, just hope you can get some answers. Please post and let us know the outcome and after reading your post I am upping the nagging and will badger my hubby to get tested!
As with OLDTed I suffer from Aura migraine (the migraine headache for me is not too bad but it’s the Aura which is horrendous, my sight goes and I feel knocked out for several days. I’ve posted before about Cluster attack headache, like having nails hammered into your head and can be relentless so I would advise seeing a Neurologist to get checked out. If you live in the North West the Walton Centre Neurological Hospital in Liverpool are brilliant and can recommend a Dr. Krishna, Neurologist, she is so kind and approachable. I suffered for over two years before my headache’s were taken seriously, Cluster Attack is a rare disorder and I believe Aura migraine is quite rare too. Don’t suffer in silence. Wishing you all the best for positive outcomes.
Thank you so much for your kind message it means a lot . With regards to the snoring it’s so annoying as my husband used to say “ oh it’s a family thing we all snore “ and they used to laugh about it . I said it’s not funny as it can cause skme serious health conditions . One thing that makes a massive difference to him is what time he eats . If he eats after 6pm or drinks any alcohol it’s worse . Sleeping on his right side helps . I did get him a nose ring recommended by I think it was the British snoring foundation and it does work but obviously not if it’s on the bedside table ! Snoring definitely affects his day time energy levels so even though they say they are fine I’m sure they’re tired !
I am so sorry about your headaches and losing your sight must be terrifying and you must “lose” days feeling terrible . I’m so glad you’ve finally got a consultant who is kind . Your message struck such a cord with me . I don’t feel like I’m taken seriously and yesterday I messaged dr to ask for tele call as I want to ask if recent bloods ( showed low testosterone ) could be causing headache . I also said I feel like a zombie (not sure that was constructive ) ! But then would you believe it the daily mail headline was about testosterone 🤦♀️so I expect he’ll think I’ve read it lol!
I’ve seen a few neurologists , a mixed bag , ones now retired , nhs one returned abroad and most recent one won’t see me again until I can get sleep study done to rule out sleep apnea . I’ll be re doing the sleep study in couple weeks . I live in South West . I will definitely post any updates . Thank you again and take care
