Connective Tissue

Hi everyone,

Perhaps somebody can help me find a solution to the issue of the muscles in my thighs tightening, why it is happening and what I can do to help myself.

Walking is becoming increasingly more difficult as the connective tissue in my hips seems to be tightening too. It also feels as if the flesh is being pulled from my shin bone as well.

Are all these issues Connective Tissue/scleroderma related please? Is there anything I can do to stop the progression of this process please?

Happy New Year to everyone here Axx

Hi there. To me your description of thigh muscle symptoms indicates that you may need testing for some form of Myositis. With scleroderma this is quite a commonly associated connective tissue disease to have I believe. You should contact your rheumatologist and hopefuly they will arrange for testing and treatment. Best of luck 😊

My rheumatologist strongly advises yoga and Pilates type exercises to gently stretch the muscles and connective tissues without overly overworking them and potentially causing more fibrosis.

Many thanks for your reply to my question. Fibrosis makes sense sadly. Ax
