Red nose after Raynaud’s diagnosis

Morning all 😀

I was diagnosed with Raynaud’s last winter and have since been experiencing horrible nose and cheek issues.

m when I get hot or if I eat hot food my nose and cheeks pulsate and go bright red. It then goes almost back to normal as I cool down!!

this has left me with a redder than normal nose and cheeks permanently. Using Rosalique green cream makes zero difference. It’s making me really self conscious.

Is this normal? (I’m 50 and on HRT so don’t get hot flushes any more as such)

I do tend to be redder than most and yes, I think your symptoms could be said to be common ... As a 60 year old, also on HRT, I've learned to sail on by in the knowledge that a. as an older woman people look at me less anyway and b. if I think people are looking at me as if I'm odd (for the whole variety of reasons including wearing gloves in summer!) I just think, 'you known nothing about me, what does it matter what you think?'

I find it helps if I just concentrate on who I am onside and what I want to do in life, then the self-consciousness ebbs away.

have you looked into vascular rosacea & Erythromelalgia (EM)? These 2 skin conditions affect similar areas of my face the way you’re describing. My Dermatologist diagnosed the v.r. as due to my autoimmune conditions & rheumatology the EM, which in my case is simultaneous with Raynaud’s & also affects my hands, knees, feet, & is also due to my immune dysfunction conditions & connective tissue disorders.
