RoActemera (tocilizumab) and headaches

after years of struggling with dcss I finally got the use of RoActemera approved. I’m 6 weeks n in noticing subtle changes already, altho it can take up to 6 months. I do a weekly injection. Problem is about 3 weeks ago I started with awful headaches n in the last week I’ve had 3 episodes that have been so bad. Head abs pounding, shaking n one night sweating n sick. I’m actually scared to move my head at all as seems to be brought on with movement forward. I wake up feeling so so but by lunchtime it’s at stage I have to lie down. I’ve been advised to miss the injection next week n perhaps even the following. I really don’t want to as I’m so desperate for this to work but I can’t go on like this. Anyone with similar experience with this injection? I’d love to hear if the headaches abated with perseverance once body got used to them or perhaps if a change to rituximab worked. Thanks.

Hello there! I am also on Roactemra for 4 weeks now, but haven’t experienced anything like that, so I can’t really be of help. I have been very sleepy lately, but not sure it is due to tocilizumab. I have to ask you, what improvements have you seen with this medication?

As for rituximab, I have a longer experience with that and I must say it was very well received by my system and was also very effective.

take care
