I would have thought hat depends on how able you are to pick up small and fiddly things and hold them steady - having had a lot of blood taken in the last few years, I'd want someone who had a firm grip on the tube and needle and could reliably achieve sticking the needle in the vein exactly where it needs to be with no second tries. Only you can work out whether or not you have the dexterity to do it. Also, do you have open sores on your fingers? If yes that might be a health issue for both you and any patient. Perhaps ask at your hospital or primary care physician and see if you can talk to a working phlebotomist about what is involved.
Hi, I’m a HCPC registered podiatrist with Raynauds and scleroderma. I honestly believe that my occupation has kept my hands mobile. They swell more and become more stiff/painful when I’m on holiday. Raynauds I control with medication and avoiding drafts. Plenty of layers on under my tunic and warm socks on my feet. I rarely have attacks in clinic. If you work for the NHS they must accommodate your requirements, talk to occupational health department.
