Looks like dried blood in the cuticle. My index finger on the other hand has it too. I have Inflammatory arthritis and Raynaud's, is it connected?

Anyone else have this?
I have had Raynauds all my life, I'm now 80, and was diagnosed with scleroderma about 7years ago. A similar problem with my cuticles was the first sign of Ssc though we didn't know what it was then. All my nails except my thumbs were affected. However over the past year they have improved and there is now only a little in three nails so it may get better. At first washing up liquid seemed to make it worse but that has also stopped now.
Hi I have this on my cuticles, I was told it is to do with my scleroderma. My cuticles are also red . It doesn’t do any harm , just looks bad. Hope this is helpful.
I have this, my rheumatologist refers to this as nailfold overlap and was one of the markers used for my diagnosis. The best advice I can give is to contact your rheumatologist / Dept. for advice / to confirm it’s due to your Inflammatory arthritis or Raynaud's.
Take care
Of course not, I have Secondary Raynaud's due to having Systemic Sclerosis (SSc).
Like the previous replies I would agree the overlap doesn’t do any harm and is possibly a marker of your Inflammatory arthritis. Contact your rheumatologist / Dept. for piece of mind. Hope this helps.
Take care
