Has anyone had side effects from omeprazole

Hi everyone.I have limited scleroderma and was taking omeprazole for the reflux,however i began to get pretty nasty pockets of stomach pain and honestly couldn't stop burping for more than 10 seconds,the pains were so bad i had to stay in bed but i suspected the omeprazole was to blame for causing this so i decided to stop taking it and within a day or two the symptoms were gone so i have reverted back to peptac which isn't really very helpful but i wondered if anyone else had side effects like this from omeprazole?

I have limited scleroderma and take prilosec and I found that my stomach pain is really from gastroparesis when I eat more than I can tolerate, or I ate something I shouldn't have eaten. Go with what works for you based on your discussion with your GP. They need to know thats not working for you.

Hi there, I take Esomeprazole...I didn't tolerate Lansoprazole, or omeprazole. No issues with this one. Don't stick with a drug that isn't working. Get your GP to change you to something else. There are lots on the market.

Omgosh....

NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE OMPERAZOL OR ANY OF ITS LIKE MEDICATIONS ....

Omperazol reduces the acid in the stomach, that **Acid** is needed for , digestion , and too keep **Bacteria and Fungi** from taking over ...

A sore throat , Quickly !!!.., got out of control !!!! I had been using Omperazol for a few years , When All HELLO !!! Caught up with me......

I got a sore throat during a vacation .., that sore throat turned out too be **Aspergillus Fungi** ..., growing into my esophagus ..., It was a Nitemare !!! I ended up becoming alergic to **Diflucan** it was prescribed 2xa day for 2 weeks ( after the 2sd dose , my lips, tongue and throat swelled ) An I had used Diflucan several times before for yeast infection ... -- then I had too go through 2weeks of daily IV meds (a new needle stick EVERY DAY!!! (Needles are my NITE MARE come Too Life!!!) --

2months Before that happened ...,

I had started to go into **SEROTONIN SYNDROME**

I had some teeth pulled. I was feeling very drowsy , ***that's normal*** , Afterwards .., Right ???*** ✓the First Mistake!!! ✓BEING TOO DROWSY✓

I was given some pain meds (because , having teeth pulled Freaking Hurts !!) ....

I didn't think much about it...., other than *I need a nap* and my mouth HURT!!.., the 4th day ..., my husband left pain meds about 7 AM .., I was asleep ...

✓second mistake..., He should have tried to wake me !!!

he came home about 1 pm.. I was asleep..., ***So, he didn't disturb me*** the ✓third mistake...., He went back to work ..., Returned at 6 pm..., then he realized I had Not taken any pain med's ....

I was completely unconscious more than 12 hours ...

Fluids are the only cure for Serotonin Syndrome .... For 2 days , I couldn't seem too wake up .... (**NO MEDS OF ANYKIND**) I was FREAKING LUCKY !!! I have a cousin who is an Anesthesiologist, an he recognized the symptoms Immediately .... -- (If not for him , I would be dead right now) --

The cause: the Pain meds **Demoral in a pill form* - Antidepressant **Prozac** and **Omperazol** for acid reflux .... A bad combination ....

I learned to sleep in a recliner ..., I never lay flat , an I have not had any issues with reflux since ....

I hope no one goes through what I experienced ....

Not to mention that omeprazole is a calcium channel blocker and women are ending up with osteoporosis

I have Scleroderma and a hiatus hernia and have been on Omeprazole for years with no side effects at all. I do know within a couple of hours if I have for any reason forgotten to take it. Acid reflux starts up almost immediately.
