So, sorry. It can be overwhelming when you can’t find a way to comfort little or loved ones. Does your darling have scleroderma? I’d noticed there were no replies. Ask your pharmacists and doctor if you can use OTC kids Topricin cream on the areas that have healed from the surgery yet still hurt. The adult cream is sold at Bed, Bath and Beyond for about $19 and the box has an inside coupon you may use. They may sell the kids cream on Amazon. It’s homeopathic but check with her doctor before using. Well wishes (sweet dreams for all)
Hi Sonya, sorry to hear about your granddaughter and the pain she is experiencing. I am replying because my brother was born with a club foot (so severe it nearly faced backwards) in 1962, he had his first operation when he was 9 months old and the after care was pretty bad, he was placed in metal splints that clamped both legs in position, he had numerous operations throughout his childhood, because back then the operations were experimental, with no way of knowing if it would work. I am happy to say my brother lead as normal a life has he could, although he was left with a limp and the foot which was clubbed was 2 sizes smaller than his good foot, this made buying shoes quite tricky, my parents having to buy 2 pairs of shoes! They were never able to find someone who could make use of the other pair of shoes, my brother always thought everybody had different sized feet. Today things are so much better, usually one operation is enough to rectify the problem, and I'm sure it must be heartbreaking to see your granddaughter in so much distress, I hope that she will feel better soon, and that my reply has not upset you, it was only to show how much further we have come in the last 50 years, take care, and hopefully you will see the benefit of the operation as time goes by.
