Can any help me do u get pip with scleroderma x

Hi there, yes it is possible to get PIP, but it's not automatic and difficult for most. When applying it is essential that you answer every question as fully as possible and emphasize how your condition affects your daily living. You will most probably be called for a face to face interview with a Health Care Professional who will not know anything about Scleroderma, and it is the report that this professional sends to the DWP that determines whether you are awarded or not. If refused it is certainly worth appealing. Good luck, you might need it.

Thank u I used to get it then they took it off me just waiting to go to court with a tribual dont thing they understand what bad days I have xx

I have tried for PIP three times and I just cannot get it.

Did you tell the person who was taking your PIP interview how your illness affects you on a daily basis?....I do not have PIP but DLA....not had notification on applying for this. My husband does have it on the middle scale of PIP so I know what is involved in applying. You get points for how you manage with washing,mobility,cooking etc. They only focus on these things rather than your actual symptoms of your illness. Good luck.

I get pip because my scleroderma affects my gastrointestinal organs from my mouth to my bum, and I got malnourished.

It depends on the severity of your scleroderma. If your are chronic it's worth contacting Citizens advice & see if they will visit you at home ( due to infecton risk, your inability to walk & lack of use of your hands due to secondary raynaulds.They will complete the form for you. Good luck!! Xxx

I receive PIP. It wasn't easy. It might be a good idea to receive a letter from your consultant - if you haven't already. You must explain your worst days not the good ones. Include everything - don't be afraid. You deserve this benefit and you know there is not cure for this awful condition.

Scleroderma is not a well known condition. Explain every little thing and how your life is compromised. Citizens advice may be able to help or someone who also has this condition and of course your consultant - this is important. I hope this helps.

Ah thank u got to go to count to do a tribual waiting 4 a date not looking forward to it got some one from citizen advice going with me I have had 4 ten years then suddenly took it off me xxx

Good luck with your tribunal Sarog 72, it helps if you keep a Diary of how your condition affects you and what help you need (even if you don't get any help), any family members of friends who can support you with a letter of the help they provide you, I believe you can send in additional information to the Tribunal Service when you get a date.

PIP Don't leave anything you feel out, If it makes you feel depressed tell them. Look up citizens advice they can help. they are very interested in how it affects you then a description of your illness. good luck.

Yea they sorting it 4 me just got my medical records aswell thank u I'll let u know they say my tribul next year some time x
