Hi, My 9 year old daughter has Morphea with several patches on her body (2 on her back, 1 on her stomach and a few on her side) has anyone had experience of this? Also do these patches fade over time?

Thanks,

Hi,

My morphea was confined to my upper chest at the base of the neck. It was fairly itchy and painful for a couple of years, but it then settled down. After five years or so they had pretty much dissapeared and I have not had any new ones.

Best wishes,

Pino

no i do not have this i can tell you take her to a immune specialist in your area ask your doctor for a referal now. probiotics, tumerick, fish oil, blue berries, dietician also can help. also make sure she is not in pain. i hope that helped. educate your self the more you know the less scary it is and ask the doctor about any new treatments for this. hugs for a better day. julie

Hi.

My son developed morphea when he was 10. He is 15 now. He was subsequently diagnosed with Mixed Connective Tissue Disease. He responded very well to treatment with methotrexate and hydroxychloroquine. Some patches faded others haven’t so much. He definitely has some muscle wasting on one arm which is more severely affected by the morphea. We have found diet to be very useful in preventing any flare ups and keeping the morphea “inactive”. He follows an autoimmune protocol diet. You can google this if you would like to know more. He is now in remission and off all medication. It’s a tough diet to stick to but worth it in my opinion. Happy to chat more about the diet if it would help. Liz x
