My husband and I have noticed now, that if there is too much of a gap between meals, I start feeling and getting unwell (I don't just mean a bit hungry). I've just googled it, and apparently hydroxychloroquine can cause this, and that it can be extreme. I was never warned about this. Has anyone else had the same problem?

No cant say that I have noticed that . Only been on the hydroxychloroquine for about 8 months. Doesnt seem to make any difference to my health either though.
I am already diabetic, have been for fifty years but starting these has made me extra careful but as I already do this but as a suggestion buy or ask the nurse at your surgery for a glucose testing machine and you could monitor your own blood glucose.
go back to your doctor and make him or her listen. keep nuts or a snacks handy in your bag with you that gives you protein. bone broth is excellent, probiotics, tumerick, blueberries. ask about different meds he or she should of gone over the side effects this is not right. let me know how it goes. i have topiramate it makes me not eat. but it helps my headaches. your damned if you and damned if you don't be your own advocate get a second opinion now. hugs for a better day. julieanna
I take this horrible tablet Hydroxychloroquine. I have noticed how it has wrecked my eyesight and dry eyes drive me barmy. the pains in my eyes some days. Interesting I was told about the possible eye problem, but not the feeling unwell by not eating regular. I will look and see. thank you. I hope it has not affected your eyes.
I've actually done well on hydroxychloroquine, apart from this and a crawling feeling on my skin after a shower. I hope that I don't have to come off it tbh.
I've been taking these for three months now but Have been a insulin controlled diabetic. I did however experience low blood sugars and did need to reduce my insulin doses. However I do think I am noticing the benefits of taking the drug
