My son has had this at GOSH. it has helped the appearance of the liesions, made the skin softer and even generated some new hair growth. Since the 2 stem cells operations, his condition has been very stable. Other who have had it done also say it has reduced the pain they feel. Good luck x

Hello, firstly very happy to hear your son is doing well, hope you don’t mind me asking does your son have Sistemic Scleroderma? My daughter goes to GOSH with SS but her treatment plan is different (steroids and chemotherapy). Was the stem cell treatment done long time ago or recently?

He has linear scleroderma on his face, head and neck. It was a clinical trial that we asked to go on to get the steam cell treatment. He still remains on methotrexate but has not had steroids in a long time. He had both operations probably in the last 2 years or so x

I went through stem cell treatment at Sheffield in May of this year & the team are brilliant.

Have you gone through the tests yet as these are very intensive & are a pre cursor for the treatment? I hope you have passed & are now waiting for a date!

I was diagnosed last June with acute cutaneous systemic sclerosis which was so aggressive. I was in horrendous pain & my skin score was extremely high.

I now feel 100% better than this time last year, have been able to reduce some of my pain killers & my skin score is reducing now at 34!

It's a long journey ( upto 18 months after) to feel like yourself again.

I still have issues with my lower legs muscle spasms & numbness in my feet but this is nothing compared to previous.

If you have any questions please contact me

I hope all goes well for you

Lots of love

Xxx
