Hi everyone, i post here on behalf of my son who is 24 , he has just been diagnosed with localised scleroderma. I was wondering if headaches are a symptom , this is his first snce his diagnosis and is severe. He doesn’t get them that often so I never thought to mention it to the consultant. I would be grateful if someone could give advice , best wishes .

Hi. My son (age 14) has mixed connective tissue disease (scleroderma, myosotis, lupus, rheumatoid). We have seen great results with totally changing his diet. He also used to get headaches quite frequently but not since changing his diet. He has cut out gluten, dairy, soya, all grains, low sugar. Look up on google for lots more information on autoimmune disease and leaky gut. Look up mark hymen, Sarah Ballantyne, Amy Myers, josh axe, russ Crandall for more information. It really does work. My son no longer takes any medication for his condition. I just wish I’d known about this approach to managing autoimmune disease earlier.

Thanks lizzy for your reply, your young son has had alot to deal with, im glad he is doing well at the moment . With my son gluten free would be ok as eats little of that , sugar free he find hard as trying that at the moment, dairy would also ne difficult but I will discuss it with him . He is due to see consultant 2 nd August to start treatment so will check with him as well . Best wishes to you and your son 😀

If it is food related which mine was..i had to avoid ..red wine aged cheese...usually white cheese is ok..but not parmesean..msg..is my real big culprit...it is in most canned soups..he will have to connect the headache to the foods. he eats......i have reyneaud..reflux ..gerd.....and i always suffere hangovers. From food....if you cant connect the 2..you should see a dr....cheer up..!!.

Thanks florr , we are on holiday at the moment and my son had a really bad day out of the blue . I can’t think what brought it on , he had had a very late night but had no alcohol, he has been up a Couple of hours with no food when it came on . He says it feels like his scalp is tight. It must be great when you find out what your triggers are . I hope you are still keeping well, best wishes 😀

Hi weathervane, you say your son says his scalp feels tight, it may be a tension headache, I suffer with these from time to time, it is sometimes related to my neck, so worth him checking he has a supportive pillow. hope this helps, xx
