Hey there folks I’ve recently been diagnosed with with localised scleroderma. I’ve been having lots and lots of problems with my skin. You name it I’ve had it. I am now about start a immune suppressing drug and was hoping there are others out there that has experienced similar symptoms. Mine being red bumps/rash all over my chest and stomach and now it’s attacking my face, including painful lumps on my forehead. I’m also really struggling and understanding it all.

Hi Selman, what immune suppressant have you been prescribed? As for the skin problems I think most of us have similar eruptions from time to time, it really is amazing all the different symptoms our bodies have to cope with, just keeps us guessing as to what will crop up next.

Every little pain I get in my body I worry it’s linked and lately I’ve been feeling very low and I think I’m experiencing having difficulty swallowing.

I take Mycophenolate, and it seems to have stabilised things. We all feel low from time to time because this condition continues to throw new symptoms our way, but this site is a wonderful place to come and get support, you are never alone, I know because every now and then I feel low, I come on here and I get masses of support, so all I can say if keep smiling, keep waving xx

Selmen,

I have Scleroderma too and have problems swallowing, I sleep with my head raised so I don’t choke and stick to easier foods that are easier to eat.

I take mycophenolate and it has stabilised me for the last couple of years.

When you get diagnosed I know it’s a lot to take in.

Fairy56 is good with the waving and staying positive for us all.

I’m currently feeling very unwell in my head, like I’m on fire and the pressure on head is so immense 😫

I have tried taking mycophenolate 3 times. Each time I end up with an infection in my chest or a yeast infection and this last time severe constipation. Do you think the constipation will stop after my body gets use to it?

Treesie,

From my memory takes a while for mycophenolate to establish itself in the body. I think it took me 3 months to get used to it but I didn’t have infections or constipation, maybe worth getting yourself checked out with GP.
