Having more problems with swallowing chocking on fluids and at times mixed consistencies. Also have to go for yet another colonoscopy this month because of pain and PR bleeding. So as you can guess I'm really looking forward to that. Lol

Oh Joan, I am really sorry to hear what a difficult time you are having. I hope you have a good team looking after you and supporting you, at home and at the hospital! Have you spoken to a dietician and a speech therapist about your increasing difficulties with swallow? They might have some additional advice and support to ensure you are able to get as much nutrition as possible, and tips/equipment to help with your swallow.
I do have good support both at home and hospital. When I see my gastroenterologist I have to discuss the swallowing with him and as my rheumatologist suggests they do a barium swallow to see were things are getting stuck. So busy times ahead for me this year.
I went to see a swallow therapist because of my choking. She said sniff with my nose - hold for the count of three and breath out through my mouth - all that before I get into a panic. With a bit of practise it works for me.
