ouch !

hi all was wondering does anyone else have painful joints in the fingers that feel like its bruised and when knocked hurts alot ? Also i take nifedepine 20mg daily but takes hours to work ??? Just feeling sorry for myself as my hips hurt aswell , feeling old before my time !!

Hi - I don't wish to alarm you but if I were you I'd push your gp for a referral to a rheumatologist asap. This sounds like synovial swelling in your finger joints and is exactly how my rheumatoid arthritis presented itself when I was diagnosed with RA. The sooner this is seen and RA confirmed or ruled out the better as early treatment can slow it down or send it into remission. I do hope this doesn't panic you but I urge you to go to your gp or rheumatologist asap. Twitchy

I have Scleroderma and Raynauds and this is what my hands were like before I was diagnosed. Also, if my hands get too cold for a day afterwards my fingers are very painful and it is hard to do anything. It probably is one of the symptoms of Raynauds but there can be other causes too, so it is better to get a diagnosis from a rheumatologist.

I have had these symptoms too and last night my fingers and hips were sore. Please see your GP and ask for a ref feral to rule out any other autoimmune issues. Good luck and keep warm ..

Same here ...my top finger joints are sensitive and I drop things a lot because of pain...can't open bottle tops either....very annoying! My hands are swollen and joints sore every morning ....swelling sometimes stays for hours sometimes they are okay ....but mostly not. But, scleroderma is what is wrong with me so hey ho!
