I have had a good week, probably due to the huge number of layers of clothing I have been wearing, and have written about it in my blog, if you would like to have a look.

Hiya, don't like this cold snap very much - would rather hibernate ... But have had to go out so wrapped up in layers of thermals ... Very difficult to keep fingers warm though been quite painful .. Roll on spring and summer ..
Now that our boiler has been replaced and the house is cosy and warm I'm doing OK. Doing the school run and going to work are bigger challenges - when outside I have 4-5 layers of clothes on plus my silver gloves with thick gloves over the top. Unfortunately I work at a hospital that is struggling financially (that's a massive understatement) and in an effort to cut energy bills they have reduced office temperatures to just 18C so I'm thankful for my silver fingerless gloves, hot drinks and multiple layers.
I'll be glad when it warms up a bit - I am getting fed up of the combination of both numbness and pain in my fingers. I hope everyone is keeping as warm as they can do!
We moved from MN to TX in July and while it was one of the hardest things leaving my parents and brother; it has been one of the best decisions. I have not had an ulcer since I moved down here and I feel so much better and more energized! I hope everyone is coping and doing well. I am grateful that my Raynaud's is not as severe as in the past and my thoughts go out to those of you who struggle with them. I know how painful they are. Stay warm!
I am doing pretty well considering the problems this weather has caused me before, although saying that i have been staying in once i get home from work (im usually out and about doing one thing or another).
My main problem is i have really sore patches on my hands which is all red cracked skin and my hands are really dry. i am using lots of e45 and aquas cream as all other creams seem to really sting. i have no idea if it is related to raynauds or not either way i am worried it will only get worse as i am starting a new job next week which will mean i have to wash my hands and use alchole gel loads (i will be working in a hospital).
Dear kaz321, Have you consulted your rheumatologist?
Not about the dry/ cracked skin on my hands. I have primary raynauds so i dont think it is related. My all out war on the sore hands is paying off as its starting to heal up with all the creams etc, maybe i should do an experimant because i have been off work for a couple of days so i have been indoors most of the time which if it is related to raynauds would have an inpact?
It was minus 11 this morning, and I had to go out...I had on so many layers I could hardly move, and three pairs of gloves, with hand warmers in. Scraping the car was the worst bit - my hands and feet both started to go numb. Luckily I was just about done, so could get in and go.
however many layers i wear i am in constant pain-particularly my fingertips =which tingle and burn even indoors, with gloves, blankets and heating on.my skin iscracking open .ive recently started on nifedapine-just been increased to 15mg 3x daily any ideas?
I am afraid I don't go out unless its from car to house I just cant cope with the cold to my hands, which I have to use on electric wheelchair. I order stuff on the computer and look longingly at my garden for any signs of the warmer weather. Stay warm and positive all you lovely people.
Every day makes me want to move to Maui... 80 degrees year round, no variation... ahhhh... a girl can dream cant she?
Hi. I'm in Canada. We have had a not too cold winter considering. We've been around the 0 to -10 C most of the winter. Its about 0 today. I'm not going outside.
I've only just discovered my raynauds this January. I just found this site yesterday, so hopefully next winter I will be much more prepared. Thanks for all the tips.
