Hello, I'm a 23 years old from Bulgaria. I have severe C-PTSD and anxiety, sometimes panic attacks and depression. A lot of nightmares. I'm at therapy and on meds but therapy in Bulgaria is really low quality. Recently I'm unable to sleep normally. I sleep all day. I can't sleep at night. I litterary wake up and it's dark outside. So depressing. I normally fall asleep around 8am and wake up at 8pm. At day i can sleep for hours but at night i can't. I somethimes try and go to sleep early and always ALWAYS wake up at 4am nauseous. I'm crying in the bathroom. I seeked help, i tried everything.

Sam I'm so sorry I didn't reply sooner. The sleep matters thread isn't a busy place which is silly. I have sleep issues too . Have you joined anxiety and depression On here ? There's more friendly people listening I promise.

Hello yes she's on that site I directed her here it's strange how these other sites aren't v busy even the other anxiety type ones aren't as busy as anxiety and depression one but that's actually more quite lately think time of year some posts don't even get answered or just couple replies😊

I'm sorry to hear about your sleep and mental health issues - I know first hand how hard it is to find and maintain some kind of balance while dealing with this.

There could be many things at play here. For instance, the side-effects of your medication. Have you spoken to your doctor about your sleep patterns? Another thing may have to do with your circadian rhythm. If you sleep all day your brain will not need more sleep during the night. You may want to work on adjusting/resetting your circadian rhythm, so that your brain associates darkness (night) with need to sleep.

Google 'Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia - CBT-I' and read a bit more about how to reset your circadian rhythm, and definitely speak to your doctor and ask for advice and other resources.

I hope this helps a little...

You aren’t alone so please don’t cry. Winter months can be particularly difficult for many. See if your doctor can prescribe Paxil but give it time as it often takes a month to start working on anxiety and depression. As for sleep, your situation is similar to what happens to babies, they get their days and nights mixed up. Try adjusting your schedule in hour increments until your schedule has returned to normal. I don’t know if Benadryl and ZzzQil are available there but give one a try. NyQuil can help out you to sleep but no alcoholic beverages. Try chamomile tea and a book before bed. Hang in there.
