As l am a new cpap user can anybody possibly help me ,l have been trying to use the Fisher and Parker Eason nasal mask.

The one I originally received was medium and much to large .l now have a small one,it fits ok and no air leaks but ,should l be able to hear myself breathe? The idea of this device is to help me go to sleep but, the noise is stopping me.!I have got so stressed l don’t want to go to bed.

l am desperate, please someone out there help x

~So sorry you are having teething problems with settling in with your new cpap.

I too have the F&P machine & found I needed to experiment with many masks before I found the most suitable that I felt at ease with both mentally & physically speaking.

I wear ear plugs at night (light sleeper) so any noise will disturb me.

Presently happy with small mask (pillowtop) I think they are called where wee inserts on mask sit just inside nose - if they are slightly out of alignment I will hear noise. I wear a chin strap too to keep mouth closed thus avoiding any mouth breathing + dry mouth.

I suggest to you not to give up - keep experimenting as I do understand your reluctance to go to bed. which adds further distress to your difficulties thus creating more stress - not happy bed companions.

Sending best wishes in meantime :)
