Hi, I’m new to the community and hope someone can help. I have been suffering from bad sleeping for few years already. I believe I have something called night eating syndrome caused by some very stressful situations when I left my country to move to London. For years I would wake up in the middle of the night to snack (I know it’s embarrassing) and then obviously I m not able to fall asleep again for hours. now after years of this very tiring issue I noticed that when I’m back to my country I sleep more properly and I don’t feel the unconscious need to wake up at night but as soon as I come back to London my sleeping cycle is again and again affected even though I am not in need of snacking anymore. Has anyone experienced anything similar? It also all started with sleeping paralysis which still affects me when I’m very tired

Hi, I do hope someone is able to help you having had similar symptoms. Whilst my story is different I do say it to many people as you never know until you inquire . I had terrible issues sleeping at night and was finally diagnosed with Sleep Apnoea , i'm not overweight as that is the first point doctors notice , but I did have it which caused me to awake during the night many times. You can go to the NHS website for a list of possible links. With most health issues including sleep problems , STRESS is the underlining cause, something I accepted and now love listening to chill out music before bed. I do wish you well and hope you get sorted.
