Any suggestions for natural aides in effort to sleep?

I have had difficulty "turning off" and then "staying off" for a solid full rest period at night. I guess I kind of got used to it and honestly tried self medicating with alcohol, just so I could find some ease. Now, I know the adverse effects of this, but it seems to be the only way I can "turn lights out" Im terrified of medication,as years back when given anti-depresnets, I had the unfortunate experience of seizures, which left me with terrible fear of any prescrition meds. I guess my long winded question; is there any natural remedies that have worked for any other that you may suggest? Melotonin actually made me dizzy and faint too. Ahhhhhhh, help! All suggestions welcome! Thank you in advance. :)

Yes im the same. Alcohol and sleeping tabs, anti depressants and still struggle

You are right, alcohol and medication are not the long term solution. I have never seen substance abuse ever work.

It's better to let Nature take its course, because the more anxious we get the more likely it is going to be an issue.

Start a new hobby, learn meditation, diet change, exercising ... whatever to get a distraction. And, turn off your phone an hour before bed time.

I have found that too much alcohol close to bedtime makes me go to sleep immediately, then wake up two hours later and not being able to go to sleep again for hours. In my case two glasses of wine will do it. I have had insomnia since I was 10, read a lot at night. But I now have been taking a large dose of THC/CBD oil for my cancer and other health problems, and I sleep great! I have also found that I sleep a lot better if I exercise for at least one hour during the day.
