The main ingredient is diphenhydramine which is benadryl.

Promethazine is an anti nausea medication and it's not the same thing as benadryl.

I live in the u.s. so not sure if ingredients are the same.

Hi jonboy,

Per drugs.com, promethazine is definitely not diphenhydramine. Here's what drugs.com had to say about its function:

Promethazine is used to treat allergy symptoms such as itching, runny nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, hives, and itchy skin rashes. It also prevents motion sickness, and treats nausea and vomiting or pain after surgery. It is also used as a sedative or sleep aid.

For precautions about who should not be taking it and for potential side effects, you can read more at drugs.com. I hope this or something else is the answer to your sleep problems very soon! ☺️

Hugs and Love...
