Sleep apnea only when sleeping on left side?

Hi can anyone explain the reason why I experience sleep apnea only when sleeping on my left side? I'm fine on my right and When sleeping on my back but it always happens when I sleep on my left side. I saw a sinus specialist a few years back who said my left nostril was more airway restricted than my right (I never thought at the time to ask what he meant!) and I have been using steroid spray for a while also but I'm scared to sleep sometimes at night. Can you die from sleep apnea?

Sleep apnea is a very dangerous condition and as far as I know you can die from it.

Sleep apnea (AP-ne-ah) is a common disorder in which you have one or more pauses in breathing or shallow breaths while you sleep. Breathing pauses can last from a few seconds to minutes. They may occur 30 times or more an hour. Typically, normal breathing then starts again, sometimes with a loud snort or choking sound.

I was told at our Sleep Clinic that a person will always wake up, I have strange result when turning on my left side, I get vertigo.During my first examination, this also happened and I heard the Professor exclaim aha!, and he then knew that he was dealing with a sleep disorder. I also read people are worrying about Strokes & Heart attacks, I was not made aware of this by anyone, so I do not know if this is true.

I also get vertigo when on my left side, the Professor also knew from that , that Sleep Apnea was likely. As far as stores and heart attacks are concerned, this is a bone of contention.
