Cataracts

Has anyone had their cataracts done . Was told it's not so good to have them done if you have Sjogrens as it can cause cornea problems.

I have not had mine done but I have read the same. Certainly something to discuss in detail with the specialist. Hope all goes well for you.

I have Sjogrens and corneal damage to both eyes. My cataracts were done in 2021, one at a time, by a surgeon who had experience in my type of case. He told me that was why I had been referred to him! My vision is certainly much better than it was. Everyone is different so you must discuss this with the eye surgeon. One thing to be aware of is that if you are sensitive to preservatives in eye drops that you make sure they prescribe you preservative free drops for use after the procedure. As it is in my notes that I need preservative free drops it did not occur to me to say anything about it - regretfully! A couple of painful days later a new prescription was issued and then all was ok. Good luck.

I have Sjogrens, am 67, and had my cataracts removed last year, both at the same time. Absolutely no problems at all.
