Dear Simonebirds

I have used a mouth guard for a year and the relief from TMJ was instant..almost. it took a couple of nights to get used to wearing it but it as also eased, neck pain and l no longer suffer from pressure headaches. I do occasional wear it if l am a little stressed during the day to release any pressure.

Good luck.

When I told my dental hygienist that I could not open my mouth wide enough to clean my back teeth because of tmj she said I should ask the dentist to refer me to a physiotherapist. I asked my osteopath to give me acupuncture (and manipulation) and the treatment sorted it.
