Hi everyone
I hope you are all keeping well, remaining resilient, maintaining yourself care and of course, being positive the best that you can.
Over the past month, I've been experiencing increased episodes of lockjaw out of nowhere. Notably, it doesn't happen whilst I'm eating. It's inconvenient and painful, as I have to self-inflict great discomfort to align my jaw back into place. After doing so, the inside of my mouth becomes sore and tender. Anyone looking on would think that I'm crazy. If I don't forcefully do it, it would remain as is - wide open lopsided jaw.
Before diagnosis, I used to experience this but not as frequent as of late, so it didn't really bother me but now, it's recently gone rogue. Unfortunately, I had forgotten to ask the hospital whether this was a symptom. Sadly, I was discharged a while ago.
Is this part and parcel of Sjogren's? Has anyone experienced this before? If so, any tips would be most welcome.
By the way, I spoke with my dentist about this and his exact words were, it was 'a Sjogren's symptom, I'm afraid' but offered no remedies, so obviously my Agatha Christie senses were not convinced.
Thanking you in advance,
