This is a common outcome of diminished saliva/dry mouth like in Sjogren's disease. I am not a dental professional. This is from my personal experience. I now have dentures and am struggling to get them pain free and learn how to eat with them.Whether or not you had a lot of cavities and/or dental crowns, you will likely experience increased decay over time, more than you would without dry mouth. So be sure to keep water at hand and take sips regularly during the day. You can also regularly use Biotene rinse or another product twice daily to protect your teeth. Some people like to use a mint or gum containing Xylitol to protect teeth and encourage saliva.

I went to the dentist twice a year and have them do a fluoride treatment. Some people are against fluoride but I felt I needed to do whatever I could to save my teeth.

Its also a good idea to minimize acid food and soda pop and rinse your mouth out after eating them. I find that lowering acidic foods helps to control my eczema!

Good luck on your health journey!

I've had lots of tooth decay due to dry mouth. I finally had to get dentures on the bottom and I have a partial on the top and it was a nightmare getting used to dentures. I also had to get implants to help hold the dentures. It has helped but it was awful dealing with getting the fit right and having it all done. I'm hoping not to have dentures on top but I have a feeling it's not far till that happens.
