Nasal Rinses

I am a bit confused about how many times a nasal rinse should be used. Can people advise how many times they've been instructed to use theirs. The livestrong.com website advocates only once a week, even for a dry nose, but obviously the manufacturer advises once a day. Please help because I don't wish to make my nose worse. Thanks x

It probably depends on why you are using it. For a therapeutic cleaning of the sinus passages, once a week is no doubt enough. If you are suffering from post nasal drip (as we often do) then once a day is better, If you are using it because you nose is dry then there are much better options available. I use a product by FESS called Frequent Flyer nasal spray. It is designed for air passengers who suffer dry noses and congestion as a result of the low humidity in the planes but is excellent for us. It has moisturisers and tea tree oil that helps keep the nasal passages moist and act as a guard against infection. I love the spray because I can keep it in my handbag and use it whenever I need to (though personally I'd prefer it without the tea tree oil because I don't like the smell, but that's just me) They also make a great nasal gel you can use at night.
